Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.

Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.

Disharmony

Seek and ye shall find. Shall find the inner knowledge that makes the problems of life plain. The difficulties of life are caused by disharmony in the individual. There is no discord in My Kingdom, only a something unconquered in my disciples. The rule of my kingdom is perfect order, perfect harmony, perfect supply, perfect love, perfect honesty, perfect obedience - all power, all conquest, all success. But so often my survents lack power, conquest, success, harmony, and I think I fail in my promises because these are not manifest in their lives. These are but the outward manafestations that result from the obedience, honesty, love, order - and they come, not in answer to urgent prayer, but naturally as light results from a lighted candle.

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, one in Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary,
 and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered
died and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in fulfilment of the Scriptures;
 he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.
Amen.

Hail Holy Queen

Hail holy queen mother of mercy
our life our sweetness and our hope
To you we cry poor abandoned childern of Eve
To you we send up our sighs
Mourning and weeping in this valley of tears
Turn thy most gracious advocate eyes of mercy towards us
And after this our exhile
Show us the blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus
O clement O loving O sweet virgin Mary
Pray for us oh holy mother of God so that we may be worthy of the promises of Christ
Amen

2004-12-13 [Lioness123]: yay! New catholic wiki!!

2004-12-14 [Lioness123]: jeez, there's a girl who keeps arguing with me about gay rights and God.

2004-12-15 [Dint]: Man, it busts my chops when people argue about that stuff. What's this girl saying to you [Lioness123]? O_o

2004-12-16 [Lioness123]: that I shouldn't follow my faith blindly and discriminate against gays

2004-12-19 [RabidSphinx]: i am not catholic, but i believe in god...hello...(^_^)

2004-12-19 [Lioness123]: cool! how r u?

2004-12-19 [RabidSphinx]: i'm good...i get messages from people saying, "you're christian right?" then they ask me some rude questions about why i hate things and why i'm a hypocrite....i have this one girl argue that god loves everyone, even gays and i was like, no god *doesn't* love everyone,...he loves a repentent sinner, because we are all imperfect and we all sin...but that gays are unrepentant sinners thus, like the bible says in leviticus, god hates them

2004-12-19 [RabidSphinx]: i hate it when stupid people with no knowlage of the bible try to "educate" me on god...it's *really* annoying...i have her first comment mnd my comment i sent back to her still...she *really* set me off

2004-12-19 [Mr. Werewolf]: I don't like it either. There are very uneducated people out there and what a lot of people don't grasp, even (that I've noticed) fellow Christians and even Catholics, is that God doesn't hate anyone and a good Christian doesn't hate anyone either. God loves everyone, the determining factor is if you love him back. So in that respect, you are wrong.

2004-12-19 [RabidSphinx]: that is not what any chruch, the lutherin, catholic, jehovah's wittness, or any of the others i have gone, have taught...it says in the bible that god hates people...he hates murderers and what not...it actually says so...but it says that he loves a repentent sinner *looks for bible to look up scriptures then gets too tired and lazy to bother*

2004-12-19 [Mr. Werewolf]: No, you took it out of context. "Hate the sin, not the sinner." If a person does not repent, you are taught to rather than hate them try to help them overcome their slavery to sin.

2004-12-19 [RabidSphinx]: i have given up on helping the sinners of this world since they *like* their sins...i help when i can, but when it comes to some, i give my bit, they shoot it down, and i then ignore them. i do not waste my time on those that will not accept my help

2004-12-19 [Mr. Werewolf]: Sadly, there are people like that. They are completely ignorant that their sins do nothing but harm them in the long run. Obviously, they are taking the easy or "cool" way out, and the more someone sins the harder it is for them to conquer it. People just don't understand the seriousness of what is at stake when they commit sin. And when the gay issue comes in it's hard to help them because it is sadly becoming an ingrained part of society and it would be taken as an offense. So I kind of understand where you're coming from on the issue. Still, hatred shouldn't be channeled toward the person, rather toward the evil that has deceived them.

2004-12-19 [RabidSphinx]: yes...i know that...*sighs* but when i see 13, 14, 15 year old kids claim they are "BI" i just want to smack the shit out of 'em

2004-12-19 [Mr. Werewolf]: That bugs the living daylights out of me!!! Chances are they're so insecure they have to be "different" from everyone else. What really bugs me is when people pester me by saying "you're just a christian because your parents are." That's one thing I'm grateful for every day, thank you.

2004-12-19 [RabidSphinx]: they don't realize that them being fart of the "non-conformist" movement, they are merely conforming to that! they are listening to the same music, dressing in the same clothes, shopping in the same places, have the same views, and say they are gay or bi like the rest of them! it's so stupid! If you are not *just* like them and agree with them on everything, you are called a “Poser” and to be honest, that is exactly what *they* all are! it is "popular" now to be gay, or if you can't go all the way, say you are BI, or if you can't even do that, you say you support gay marriage and wear rainbows...they are the damn double standards of this county that piss me off!

2004-12-19 [Mr. Werewolf]: You're right, and they have their own limits for their individuality...it's good to be different but listening to classical music makes you a weirdo, well I must be a weirdo for listening to music that I like. I think that if someone goes out of their way to be different then that isn't individuality I think that's just plain conceit.

2004-12-19 [RabidSphinx]: *nods*

2004-12-20 [Lioness123]: I've read over what I missed, and *applauds werewolf* great job, werewolf at defending the "hate the sin not the sinner" concept. :)

2004-12-21 [RabidSphinx]: hahaha! this is funny...this is a flyer my local catholic church plastered our school with and sent out to parents...my friend gave me this copy to scan...i was wondering how you all felt about this...<img:http://rainemalfoy.com/albums/Raine-Malfoy/BS.sized.jpg>

2004-12-21 [Lioness123]: Some of those are legitimate, but ALOT of those are just plain stupid, lol

2004-12-21 [Lioness123]: I use the internet excessively, sleep too much, wear band t-shirts, complain of boredom, I like having time to myself...and alot more of those apply to me. And the one about the child wanting time alone to meditate and talk to satanic spirits....how do THEY know that the child isn't praying to GOD or just wants some peace and quiet?!

2004-12-21 [RabidSphinx]: my thoughts exactly...thay, if your child is drinking blood and self mutilating, even if you are an athist, you should seek mental health treatment through some form of therapy...but wearing black nailpolish, "odd silver jewlery" and eating Count Chocula is not "evil" i still get a kick out of the church's view on masturdation...hahaha! they crack me up over some things

2004-12-21 [Lioness123]: I think alot of those people are just OVERLY afraid. They fear for the spirituality of thier children, when in truth, all you can do is guide them and show them the way to go. Its up to the teens to make their own decisions in life as to which way to take, but they should trust that Gods way is the only way where they will be truely happy.

2004-12-21 [RabidSphinx]: i am quiet happy ignoring god at the mement...church did nothing good for me...they just guilted me over every little thing...i feel if i merely keep myself to decent moral standards, i'm set

2004-12-21 [Lioness123]: I'm sorry you feel the church tried to make you on a guilt trip, but please don't give up on God. He's always there for ya, one way or another.

2004-12-21 [RabidSphinx]: well, my church teaches that 144,000 faithful people will live in heavan and the others, however many there end up beaing, will be born again and live forever in a paradice earth and living breathing, but perfect, humans, in peace...*forever* and that, to be honset, doesn't appeal to me...if i lived FOEVER in a perfect world, i would go mad with bordum, because *eventually* with eternity, you will have done *everything* there is to do...i have been taught that there is no "hell" and the sinners are not eternally punnished for their sins. when they die, they are dead. there is no afterlife, nothing, it's a dreamless endless sleep...and that, well, doesn't bother me all that much.

2004-12-21 [RabidSphinx]: i am not a bad sinner (though i know very well that i am one) but i have good morals. no sex till marriage, no drinking or drugs, i respect my elders...i mean, i am not exactly one of those sorry godless cases that i see where i really wish i could help them find some direction with their life. i am just cuntenet with living my life once. being happy but responcible, and dying.

2004-12-21 [Mr. Werewolf]: I thought the 144,000 sealed referred to those living on Earth when when Armageddon occurred. And didn't everything in the Book of Revelation already occur?

2004-12-21 [RabidSphinx]: not *everything* yet...but some have happened, starting in 1914...and from what the wittnesses teach, there are the 144,000 people that go to heaven, god's army for armagedon...the faithful, that are still alive, will be spared, those wicked will be distroyed...then the faithful but dead will be resurected to live for eternity in a paradice earth, like god had intended from the begining

2004-12-22 [Lioness123]: why haven't I heard of any of that before? :/

2004-12-22 [RabidSphinx]: it's in the book of revelation...and throughout the bible...i don't know...*shrugs*

2004-12-22 [Lioness123]: which bible? it can't be the catholic one...

2004-12-22 [RabidSphinx]: new world testament and others...i am not sure about the catholic bible...they went a little crazy and few hundred years ago and started actually changing shit in their "version" of it...that is why i'm not catholic...to many fake laws made up by the church...and what's with all the saints? god commanded that we ONLY worship him as the true god, and only prey to him...so why do you worship and prey to Mary? she was a faithful woman and god chose her because of it, but he NEVER told ANYONE to pray to her of idolize her...god actually forbids idol worship in the bible yet Catholics worship statues of selfproclaimed saints

2004-12-22 [Lioness123]: whoa! hold the phone... we do NOT worship Mary. Praying to someone is NOT the same as worshiping them. We catholics hold Mary in very high respect because she is the mother of Jesus. She's the queen of heaven, but she's not God. We don't worship statues or saints, we look up to them because they are close to God and we hold them in high esteem. Actually, you can pray to anyone in heaven. I pray to my grandpa sometimes. Ex. - "hi grandpa, how are you? Well, things are tough around here...please ask God to give me a hand down here, would ya? thanks"

2004-12-22 [RabidSphinx]: queen of heaven? where the fuck did that come from? she is just a faithful servant of god...and you are only supposed to prey to GOD through Jesus and anything else is considered blasphemy...and what's up with your idols? you know kneeling before an idol is forbidden by the bible but that is exactly what all you Catholics do with your fake saints...it's fine to respect other faithfuls such as Mary, but to make her into to some saint is a disgusting act of blasphemy...god demands all our prayer...praying *for* someone is good, preying to your grandfather is disrespectful to god...god says praying to other things/ people other than him is wrong…

2004-12-22 [Mr. Werewolf]: RaineDrop, it isn't polite to attack someone in their own house. Watch what you say please!

2004-12-22 [RabidSphinx]: i am not attacking anyone...just pointing out problems that you should be defending...can YOU tell me why god hates idol worship and yet catholic churches are filled with them? and can you explain to me why Mary has been turned into some "mother of god queen" when she is the mother of god's SON in his human form only and never once did the bible ever say she was anything more than a faithful servant of god

2004-12-23 [Mr. Werewolf]: We do not worship idols. You do not worship someone when you pray to them...when you pray the Hail Mary, you ask her to pray for you "now and at the hour of our death". Lioness123 has explained this very well in her last comment. Perhaps you are mistaking idols with representations? When you pray, say to St. Christopher (the patron saint of travellers) you ask for him to pray to God to protect you. Whenever I go on long journeys, it makes me feel safer when I take a St. Christopher medal along. It's just one of our unique practices, and it's NOT idol worship. You are also mistaken on Mary's status as Mother of God. We believe that God is in three divine persons: the Father, Son, and Holy

2004-12-23 [Mr. Werewolf]: Spirit (or Holy Ghost). Mary was mother of Jesus, so she was the mother of God, and the only human to bear that title. For that reason she is one of the most revered persons in the Church.

2004-12-23 [RabidSphinx]: okay, 1) you are suppoesed to pray to Jesus, and he then talks to God because he is the only one worthy of such an honor...not the saits...they are JUST PEOPLE that you catholics gave some special title to. and 2) Jesus is God's SON they are not the same person/being...many times did Jesus DENY that he was god and say he was god's SON...he was God's first creation, and together they created the heavens and the earth...so how could they be the same? and it is still considered Idol worshop to bow before an aulter to Mary, or carry around things like crosses and coins...God requested that NO images be used in his worship...that includes such items

2004-12-23 [Dint]: First off, Jesus has two natures. The nature of God and the nature of man. He is God made man. And that would be when he is called “Emmanuel” which means “God is with us”. In the Gospel of John, 10:30 –Jesus said “the Father and I are one”. Also in John 8, they are questioning Jesus about who He is. Jesus answered the Jews saying: “I solemnly declare it: before Abraham came to be, I Am.” Then, if you turn to the book of Exodus, 3:14, God is telling Moses “I Am who Am”.

2004-12-23 [Dint]: In regards to Mary, because Jesus is God and man, then Mary is the mother of God.

2004-12-23 [Dint]: Two cents about praying to the Saints: Just as we ask people here on Earth to pray for us, such as our relatives and friends, why can we not pray to people who have died and ask them to pray for us also?? In fact, the saints in Heaven are more alive than we are. They are free from all sin; they enjoy the fullness of God’s life-giving presence. Because they are flooded with God’s love, they care more about us now than they did on Earth because there is nothing to interfere with their love for us.
